New technologies in the world of creativity

As a creative, it's important to stay ahead of the curve and know the latest technologies. This can be exciting and open up new possibilities, but it can also lead to disappointment if the technology you've invested in doesn't catch on. I experienced this lesson first-hand with my first virtual reality project in 2015.

When I started working with VR, I got caught up in the hype and tried to develop complex projects with a young and immature technology. To briefly describe how young the technology was: we used a 3D printer to print out a cube in which we placed 6 GoPro cameras, which we then had to synchronise first and then stitch together in an complex way. But the initial hype quickly died down in the market, there were too few places to use the technology because it wasn't really for the masses and I thought VR was a passing trend. I didn't realize that the technology was still in its early days and now with the introduction of the Apple headset, it's probably going to make a big comeback. But we will see.

Besides VR, I'm also involved with AI and work with platforms like Midjourney and ChatGPD, which are being used by almost half the creative scene in the world. This technology is also very hyped right now and will probably be much bigger and justified than Virtual Reality was in 2015. What I'm getting at is that I like to explore new technologies and keep learning to discover new ways to be creative.

For this reason, I decided to start this blog to share my experiences through past projects, thoughts, my failures and realised projects about the latest technologies and their impact on the world of creativity. Here I want to share all these insights and experiences and would love to hear from you.

Whether you are a experienced professional or a curious beginner, join me on this journey of exploring new technologies and their impact on the world of creativity.
