ARRI ALEXA 35 - Encouters

In 2021, I worked on the campaign for a launch campaign for Arri's new camera. The ARRI ALEXA 35

For the launch campaign, Arri wanted to make the new Alexa 35 available to various filmmakers around the world in advance to show impressions that demonstrate the camera's strength already at the product launch.

The challenge was to design the briefing for the filmmakers in such a way that the storytelling was not too limited. On the other hand, the films had to have a certain common thread and fit together. We also had to make sure that the various strengths such as REVEAL Color Science, dynamic range, more sensitivity, more accurate colors, and overall handling were felt in the work.

The solution was to develop films in which a certain kind of encounter between people or individuals takes place. This is a basic core of storytelling and you had the chance to see, for example, a dialogue situation between two people filmed in completely different perspectives. The filmmakers were able to choose the settings themselves, which meant that a range of different situations could be portrayed, such as outside at night or inside a house during the day.

After my contribution, the concept was further developed and then given to 11 filmmakers worldwide, who wrote a script and implemented it. Here is a selection of three films.
